Frequently asked questions

Nothing is hidden

On your iPhone, go to Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions and check that "Blinder" is turned on. On the same screen, check that google.com and google.co.jp are set to "Allow." If the × button does not appear, turn on both "Hide sites" and "Add × button" on the Blinder tab. After changing a setting, reload the search results page you have open.

Settings are correct but nothing is hidden

Google may have changed the layout of its search results page. We handle this with an app update, so please check the App Store for an update. Until then, turning on "Use Google's Web results" in Settings shows a view without AI Overviews. Note that this view contains links only; maps and knowledge panels will not appear either.

A site I hid still shows up

Hiding applies to the registered domain and its subdomains. If the site appears under a different domain, tap the × button on that result to add it. Hiding by word applies only to words contained in the result's title.

For results that list posts directly, such as from X or Reddit, the domain is determined from the displayed site name. Sites whose domain cannot be determined do not get a × button and cannot be hidden by domain; hiding by word still works.

I upgraded but the limit remains

After purchasing, open this app once. The change is then reflected in Safari. If it is not, tap "Restore Purchases" on the Upgrade sheet.

Does it work with Yahoo! or Bing?

No. This app works only with Google search results in Safari. You can check Safari's search engine under Settings → Apps → Safari → Search Engine.

Free version vs. one-time purchase

Hiding "AI Overviews," "People also ask," and "People also search for" is free with no limits. The free version lets you register up to 10 sites and 3 words. The one-time "Upgrade" removes the limits and lets you export and import your sites and words. It is not a subscription.

I got a new device or reinstalled the app

With the same Apple Account, tap "Restore Purchases" on the Upgrade sheet to restore your purchase. Your sites and words are stored only on the device, so export them before switching devices and import them on the new one.
