Blinder Privacy Policy
owaruzendo ("we") sets out below how user information is handled in the iOS app "Blinder for Safari" and its Safari extension "Blinder" (together, "the App").
1. Basic policy
The App does not require an account and we do not operate any server. All information the App handles is stored only on the user's iPhone and is never sent to us.
2. Information we collect
We do not collect any information through the App, whether or not it can identify a user.
If a user contacts us voluntarily, we use the contact details and the content of the message only to reply.
3. Information the App handles on the device
- The list of hidden sites and words, and each setting's on/off state
- A flag indicating whether the one-time "Upgrade" has been purchased, and the time it was last updated
- The number of times the extension has acted on search result pages (counted only on the device; never sent anywhere)
These are stored in the App's own area on the iPhone and shared only between the extension and the containing app. The purchase record itself (transaction or payment details) is not stored.
4. Information the extension reads
The extension runs only when Safari displays a Google search result page on google.com or google.co.jp, and reads the page content in order to hide elements on it. It does not store or transmit what it reads, and it does not record search queries or browsing history.
5. Third-party services
- App Store (Apple): Purchasing and restoring the Upgrade is handled by Apple. We do not receive the purchaser's name or payment details. Apple's privacy policy applies.
- Google: The content of search result pages and Google's handling of information are governed by Google's privacy policy. The App does not send any information to Google.
6. Exported files
A file of sites and words exported by the user is saved to the location the user chooses. It is not sent to us.
7. Diagnostic information
If the user has allowed sharing with Apple in iOS settings, diagnostic information such as crash reports may be provided to us through Apple. It does not include information that identifies an individual.
8. Data retention and deletion
The App's data is kept on the device until the user deletes the App. Deleting the App removes the list of sites and words, the settings, and the count from the device. Because we do not hold any data, no deletion request to us is necessary.
9. Children's information
We do not collect personal information from any user, regardless of age.
10. Changes
When this policy is revised, the revision will be published on this page.
